Frequently Asked Questions

Toy Lounge is only available Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. The entire reservation process is online and you can view the calendar of confirmed events by clicking here.  This is both between the start AND end times of events. Please keep this in mind when finding a time for your event.

Toy Lounge comfortably holds approximately 85 people.

In order to make a request, you should fill out this form. All communications regarding the status of your request will be sent to your UNC email address. Reservations are reviewed based on the order in which they are received.  A staff member will contact you to let you know if your reservation has been accepted or rejected – in both cases, you will receive an email notification. You can generally expect to receive an status update email by the end of each business day, depending on staff availability.  To inquire about a reservation, please contact toylounge@unc.edu.

To cancel your reservation, please forward your reservation confirmation email to toylounge@unc.edu, requesting that it be removed from the calendar.  
Toy Lounge is only available to faculty and staff for meetings and programs during normal business hours.. It is not available for student use, programs geared towards students, or student organizations.  It is not intended for regular classroom instruction or for special classroom-related events.
Toy Lounge is supported by Classroom Hotline. All technology related questions should be directed to via phone (919.962.6702) or at their website at http://hotline.unc.edu.
 Programs that are geared towards students including but not limited to film sessions with discussions where the attendance is part of an academic class, or student organization meetings or programs are not appropriate events for Toy Lounge. These events should be coordinated through the Student Union. Sit down meals, such as lunches or dinners, are not appropriate events for Toy Lounge.

Toy Lounge is not well suited for catered meals, though there are two tables in the back available for light refreshments.

 Toy Lounge is a self-service room.  You are allowed to rearrange furniture to suit the needs of your event with the understanding that the room will be returned to its original layout.  Failure to do so may result in loss of reservation privileges.
